Ken is an acknowledged authority and speaker on procurement and commissioning transformation following a highly successful career spanning the public and private sectors. He has been responsible for many high profile projects and initiatives that have delivered high profile results and changed management thinking. In recent years these have included:
• Setting up and running the London Centre of Excellence which created projects in areas such as energy purchasing, electronic parking payments and fleet management that have changed thinking and practice and left a lasting legacy
• Produced the report ‘ Delivering for London – Modernising local authority procurement ’ which was endorsed by the 33 London elected Leaders and today forms the blueprint for London local government’s current collaborative category work
• Led and implemented the procurement and commissioning transformation project at Thurrock Council which included systems, knowledge management, governance and savings generation
He is as Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS), Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and a Liveryman in the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists having received the Freedom of the City of London in 1994. He is also editor of The Catalyst – a quarterly bulleting specialising in transformation issues.
