Integrated working in Children’s Services

The challenge

As part of a wider programme to develop integrated working, Bluemarble was asked to help implement integrated services for children, young people and families in three ‘localities’ and across the City. This included the design and delivery of new service arrangements for locality based teams focusing on early intervention and prevention, specialist /city-wide services that bring together support around key customer groups such as children in care and children in need and a new management structure with the PCT.

Our approach and outcomes

Working closely with the Director of Children’s Services and the Departmental Leadership Team (DLT), Bluemarble led and managed the transformation programme to implement integrated service delivery,;this was one of the largest change programmes ever implemented in children’s service.
Overseeing a largely council-led team of work stream managers to support the change process (including communications, workforce development, finance, accommodation and governance and partnerships), the new service was operational by July 2010.

What our clients say

"Bluemarble have been instrumental in driving the transformation programme forward and in supporting our journey to excellence. They have helped us to turn our strategic vision into operational reality providing programme management support with enthusiasm, clarity and an approach totally suited to our needs. I have no hesitation in recommending them to other public sector organisations."
John Richards, Director of Children’s Services, Peterborough City Council
